Info
This thematic group is made up of an overarching strategic group and three operational sub-groups. The terms of reference of the Employment and Social Inclusion Group will recognise the FRESA (Framework for Regional Employment Skills Action) and its aims and objectives.
The strategic group consists of representatives from the LSC, Local Authorities, Norfolk and Norwich Voluntary Services, Job Centre Plus. Representation from the Voluntary Sector will be explored with the aim of decreasing the reliance on Norfolk and Norwich Voluntary Services to act as sole representatives of the sector. The role of the strategic group will be to provide strategic direction to the sub groups, act as a vehicle for dissemination and co-ordinate funding from Shaping Norfolk's Future, EEDA and Go-East and other agencies, and reporting outcomes of the sub-groups to the Shaping Norfolk's Future Board. It will also provide input into relevant local and regional strategies.
Sub-group 1: Response To Redundancies
Challenges: To work together to prevent and/or minimise the impact of any redundancies.
Sub-group 2: Increasing Employability and Employment
Challenges: To work together to ensure that everyone in Norfolk has the opportunity to increase their skills to enable them to compete in the labour market.
Sub-group 3: Employer Needs
To work together to understand and overcome barriers to employers developing their businesses in Norfolk and to ensure new employers see Norfolk as the place to be to develop their business.
